It’s not garbage and if anything, it makes plasma better by being a bit of competition and offering simplicity.
I think it’s more similar to the mac idea of simplicity, but there isn’t much new features.
Security. Yeah that’s what users complained about… :P
They don’t trust Microsoft but I guess that’s harder to put on their web page.
It’s also local to your device and doesn’t get sent anywhere as I understand it. Firefox is such a boss.
Dns issues. Had similar with pihole before I configured it correctly.
People said it back then too. The ad and tracking industry will always invade more and more of our privacy. When will there be enough tracking to make them stop and be happy? Never. Never is the only answer.
Must be fun to be done porting it to qt5 and realize qt6 is now the default. :)
I hate the corpo talk as usual but hope they can squeeze out a really good tab manager. Container tabs and proper adblock is the best thing Firefox has, and would be nice with a third Ace in their hand.
Another one sees the light. :)
I don’t know. People in the west dont seem to understand they also listen to propaganda every single day. But they think it’s just happening in Russia or China.
This week in gnome : Send Money :)
This sounds like written by an Ai or some marketing person…
Ordinary people don’t use phrases like “box maker System 76” or “highly anticipated by the Linux community”…:)
True, I have not installed it. I ran Fedora for a while long time ago and selinux was causing tons of headaches. So I never wanted to have it on my system after that.
Totally agree. Arch is actually a really good, simple system. That’s why so many people pick it as their main distro. Once you have installed it a few times, it’s just very simple how it works. There is no magic.
If only Helix would have vim mappings and a plugin system, it would kill neovim over night…
In it’s current state, it’s only suitable for people who don’t need any plugins. So if you want a plugin for picking a virtual environment in python for example, you just can’t do it in Helix.
I don’t know, to me it’s really limited without any form of plugins. I truly wish it had a plugin system because tons of people would write high quality rust plugins.
I did it, learned a lot. But it’s not really a system that can be maintained very easily. You don’t even have a package manager. :)
Yeah fractional scaling 125%.
Unfortunately Jetbrains editors are still blurry on both Sway and Gnome in 4k. Only Plasma can handle it and shows sharp text. Not sure what they are doing that the others can’t.
Glad I’m not alone… I can glance an article in 30 seconds, so I fail to see how video is a better format for this.
For udemy teachings, yes, video is great. But it’s way overused for everything.
Same with the US.
