“Fruit cup" = a queer person
I thought that was a pretty common slur?

None of my mobile devices are “necessary,” though. Honestly, I could live just fine without an internet connection. Not that I’d enjoy it, but that’s not necessary.
“Necessary” is a little ambiguous. You could argue that wifi is unnecessary for a normal home network.
Here’s my use-case, I’m pretty sure the first 2 are pretty common (common enough to be supported by most OEM firmware):
Openwrt works great for gigabit networks with simple firewall rules and no IPS. But used 10-56gbps enterprise equipment is getting pretty cheap, and more complicated firewall configurations need more powerful hardware than the typical openwrt router.
And 56gbps on a home LAN might be overkill, but that’s not important.
Don’t let anyone live in your head rent-free. You let him win.
Also a good point, but Microsoft has a history of EEE so it’s also fair to be sceptical of them.
The way God intended
Only if they know about the repo, and apparently the Nvidia employee responsible for submitting patches upstream didn’t.
Maybe that’s why their drivers are so bad? /s
Hardware manufactures (Intel, AMD, etc) SHOULD be contributing to Linux. How could they EEE if they aren’t directly competing? The better compatibility they have with Linux, the more server CPUs they can sell. That’s their motivation, and it’s aligned with the OSS community.
If part of their job is working with the OSS community I don’t see anything wrong (and I just finished my annual training a few weeks ago, so it’s still fresh in my mind).
Edit: keeping an “official” repo secret does seem like an issue, but public posts about the correct process to contribute upstream doesn’t seem like a problem.
Yes, but some funding for Linux (some of which goes directly to Torvalds) comes from the Linux Foundation, so why would he?
OK, guess I misunderstood
Are you really suggesting someone buy a used Ford Lightning to use as an alternative to a DIY UPS and never drive? The DIY UPS sounds 100x more practical.
What does your ETA acronym mean? I usually read “ETA” to mean “estimated time (to) arrival”…
Also: drone strike civilian casualties.
When did they change how they count civilian casualties? I heard it was under Obama’s administration, but I’d be happy to be proven wrong.
Counterpoint: all of that is irrelevant if the legal owners don’t care enough to sue you.
What if the “bag of money” didn’t have any money in it at all, and the cost of recovering and properly disposing of the “bag of money” cost the legal owners more than what the bag and it’s contents are worth?
Vuncan, DXVK, and Proton are other open source projects that either make wine more capable or more user friendly. It’s still wine under the hood, though.
Por que no los dos?
And those aren’t the only fruity slurs, either.
