They provide a simple, out of the box ,turnkey solution with a common UI to configure and manage the whole thing. Out of the box it covers most situations someone might need for a basic home server.

I mean, I worked there. I was there when the beany baby craze was in full effect. The profit margins even back then were huge since they control the entire supply line. Never thought I’d see the day people come out to be apologists for McDonalds.
Their revenue from 2002 when they introduced the dollar menu meal was $15.40 B. Then climbed to 20 billion by 2005 and has bounced between 20 to 28 billion every year since except for 2020 where they dipped to 19 billion. Why I’m getting downvoted because a video (that wasn’t linked) had someone talking about a Yum! branded company (Taco Bell) whos profits tanked in 2016 (from $13B to $1.89B) mentioned McDonalds… who’s not seen any sort of comparable problems as based on the links I provided… is beyond me.
I find it hard to believe McDonald’s was losing money on the dollar menu items. Considering they owned the entire process from factory, shipping, to restaurant. Back in the 90’s even I know the fountain drinks alone were insanely profitable.
I was in college. I was talking with a classmate how I tried to burn this OS called Linux that I heard of on TechTV, bit the stupid disc never worked. I leaned how to properly burn iso after that. Pretty sure he showed me some copy of Fedora or Mandrake, maybe SuSe. Didn’t care for Fedora, bit found this other one that seemed real interesting everyone was talking about, Ubuntu.
It’s way over hyped. Especially the fries. Because people think they’re getting a crapload and not the amount they payed for in a tiny container.
I walked into a five guys once cuz I was out of town and ask for a California burger, figuring someone who worked at a burger place would probably know what toppings I wanted. The cashier looked at me like I was stupid. So after explaining what toppings to put on, I got the most disappointing $20ish meal. Dry, flavorless, and way to much salt. I honestly would have been happier if I had just gone to a Burger King or McDonald’s or Arby’s.
I presume at one point it was actually a really good place to go but like any restaurant that lives long enough the quality tanked will the price is went up.
Or the API can die a quick death, like so many other Google products.
I feel like if a bank is going to use it, there needs to be a clear financial reason to. Because if someone can’t access their account, they might lose their shit and leave for the first bank whose website works.

So is that a personal laptop your using for work or a work laptop? Because if it’s the latter, they’re doing a terrible job setting policies and turning crap off with either GPO or some DSC system.
The level of truth this is hurts me to my core.
Probably not popular opinion, but pwsh (powershell). It’s got a lot of tooling built in and means I don’t have to learn a different tool just because I’m in a different system.
