Plus shouldn’t this on paper be positive news? Mozilla can, if they run Anonym well enough, be independent of other ad networks. Run their own. Which in turn means they can control the data and where it’s stored, an important issue with third-party ad networks.
This is probably related to Youtube starting to serve ads mixed into the actual videostream, right?

Exactly, this is genuinely adding useful features. For users. Sure there are niche cases like the OP frequently using VMs that end up leaving each browser in a very deprecated state, but this very behavior of the browser is useful to a normal user that just hasn’t used the browser for a while.

Did you read more than just the three words naming the feature? Their use case is actually smart, and could potentially help users a lot.
Vertical tabs has quickly become the deal breaker feature for me personally, for any browser. I am on desktop, horizontal tabs are so senseless there in hindsight as most screens are wider than they are tall.

The concept of memory ceases to exist at the boundary to the Firefox process. What happens beyond it is unknown, except that no matter how much memory you throw at it, none ever gets out.
Damn, computers have gotten really far if nowadays we’re happily throwing away the performance of dockerizing ˜everything on entirely normal application installs. Sigh.
But it restores tabs? In fact I think nowadays that’s the default behavior unless you turn it off.

In your downloads folder. Just as before. Did you by chance remove it’s file permissions? Or mess with the config to swap the folder in the past and now it no longer has permissions?
Meh, with games we want them to work independent of which type of controller we use, but display each driver’s specific button graphics as needed. I see no difference here. Do I want dynamic upscaling and auto-HDR for all graphics cards? Sure! Do I still want it optimized for each type of graphics card unless the hardware makers can - unlikely - present a unified API? Of course I do.
Why not? They are one of the last browsers to add support, so I think they quite did?
