Using a Chrome user agent in FF can result in broken video / audio playback on various sites.

They did the same shit with their redesign with their idiotic floating tabs. They look ugly and they even take up way more space, while displaying less information, for literally no reason. They argued the need this change for future FF features, which yet, several years later, have yet to appear. Here’s a quote from “Paul”, one of their moderators - almost 3 years ago:

I love Firefox and will continue to use it, but its decline is a mixture of Google’s aggressive embrace, extend, and extinguish approach and straight up continued mismanagement of the Mozilla Corporation.

I made a post about my Gnome experiences already, which were just terrible due to how unstable the apps were and how it lacked a ton of even very basic features that I needed. So if their Wayland support is better, it’s completely overshadowed by how shitty everything else is.

Most of the issues were a year or two ago, but I every now and then switched to Wayland to see if things got better and returned to X within like hours due to issues just around the “desktop”.

I’m on AMD and had so many issues with Wayland. A lot of games were straight up unplayable due to the amount of issues and some other applications straight up not compatible while scaling is also still a freaking mess. Saying Wayland has been working perfectly for years just feels like clownery and is kinda insulting to everyone who experiences those problems.

It’s like “jaywalking”. It purely exists to bully and discriminate against pedestrians and declare the streets belong to the cars. That’s what you get when you have big ass corporations do the lobbying.

Sometimes I see the rare post when I sort by Newest but it almost feels like kbin is giving 18+ submissions a low priority or something. Meanwhile when I check through my Beehaw account I see a lot of it, relatively speaking. Definitely far more than on kbin.

Sounds like coil whining to me too, albeit a pretty loud one. It’s typically GPUs and / or PSUs that are the culprit when they’re under load.

DDG doesn’t use its chatbot though, which also still is blocking all VPN traffic.

One of the many reason I don’t buy too much into the hype. The internet is generally a bad data source because of how much nonsense there is. And those “AIs” are still nothing but glorified chatbots like Cleverbot, just with a better data set to pull from. In the end they still very quickly fail and talk complete bs. Not to say they cannot be helpful or fun but people really need to be mindful about it. As always, don’t trust every little shit that’s on the internet, and that includes chatbot outputs too.

I used the commands OP provided, which is also what’s been posted on the official page and it seemed to have worked without issues for me. At least in regards to me not having any graphical issues.

I get the same error when trying to update. What’s the correct way to fix it?!

I’ve read several comments from chromium browser users that they also experienced this. I’m using Firefox and have not. It’s just A/B testing for all adblock users.

The image says “visiting websites”, not “YouTube”. And Google does this for several years already, not just since 2023. The new 5 second delay is also happening in Chromium based browsers if you use an adblocker, it just isn’t immediately rolling out to everyone yet. See A/B testing methodology.

What’s the problem with Firefox? Certainly can’t be the speed or ram usage.

Does that fix it? I disabled the whole addon because it interfered with the anti adblock measures. Unfortunately many features of it are pretty broken at this point and the author even removed it from the Firefox addon page.

Why would you use two adblockers at the same time? That’s just bound to cause problems. And that doesn’t even go into the whole adblock plus drama.

Yeah, those seem cool, although probably still not something for my inept ass to use but it’s nice to see products like these starting to pop up. Some are also not too insanely priced either. Anyone who did some benchmarks comparing them to just regular consumer gpus yet? I couldn’t find anything.

I think KoboldAI runs locally, but like many current AI tools it’s a pain in the ass to install, especially if you’re on Linux, especially if you’re using AMD GPUs. I wonder if we’ll see some specialized AI related cards to slot into our pci ports or something. Not a whole lot of necessary options to fill them nowadays anyway. I’d also be interested in local AI voice changers too. Maybe even packaged like a Roland VT-4 voice transformer that sits between your mic & whatever audio other audio interface you might be using, where you just throw the trained voice models onto the device and it does all the real time computing for you.

I’m sure things get more refined over the next years though.
