  • American can either be like : 9/11 is like the worst day in the entire universe lifespan . Don’t ever disrespect it, ever!

    Or

I ate Mexican tacos and a few hours later, it was like 9/11 all over again in the bathroom. It was so bad that I almost melted my toilet. The keyword is almost, cause we all know jet fuel can’t melt steel beams.

There’s a weirder type of people that are not even Americans and act like the first type.

  • Ladybird will finally use third party software? 🎊🥳 I always thought that ladybird could be the next community driven truly open source browser after Firefox, but felt that their emphasis on not using third-party software and reinventing everything from scratch was a big hindrance to the project. I feel like with such problem removed, Ladydbird will quickly vastly improve and may even be usable for daily use a soon as next year.

  • My PC with 4GB of RAM and an HDD is barely holding with linux mint. Tbf Mint isn’t the problem, it only takes 32% of ram compared to the 60+% of a debloated windows 10. It’s the other apps. Running a browser along anything else and Linux mint starts to struggle, even the built-in apps like the file manager and the text editor feel like they’re gonna crash the computer at any moment because of the random freezing/ delays.

My advice would be to try upgrading to 4GB and installing an SSD. Your old computer will likely only support SATA SSDs, which have a max speed of 500MB/s, but it’s far better than the 30MB/s at best that the HDD disks give.

  • Didn’t mean to sound harsh. Not a native English speaker.

It’s still in a gray legal area in most countries or they wouldn’t even be trying. Nobody is trying to steal the intelectual property, just make it that companies can’t come years later and remove things you bought full price . It’s a matter of customer protection.

  • I think there was an episode where they found out that there’s a US law that says US citizens don’t have the right to ownership of software or something like that. they’re only trying in countries where customer protection is a thing, but the practice of removing ownership of software after some time is in a gray area.
