America tried to modernise many British means of methods and standards. They used a metric currency long before Britain. That’s why they have a cent (1/100) rather than pennies and bobs and truppence.

They got ride of many terms for multiples of measurements that made the imperial system more similar to metric. Americans use ounces, but they don’t use pounds.

America also defines their us customary units using metric. There’s no longer an inch. There is a meter and from that an inch is defined as 24 millimeters. This is largely due to British, Canadian and American components for fighting wars not fitting together despite all using the same inch.

Had America modernised a little later they probably would have converted to metric earlier than Britain.

Yes, I understood that. There are specific OS for Kodi like libreElec, that make it easy to have support for lots of codecs etc. I don’t know if any for specific to Jellyfin, but the Jellyfin App has a better UX than Kodi.

Kodi is a great Linux client. But that’s not what OP wants, the jellyfin app is a nicer UX experience.

It’s a nice aesthetic choice in macos. They got rid of the icons, I always thought the order was clear. It’s like a car clutch closes the engine from the wheels, brake slows the car (minimise) and accelerator maximises.

There is lots of web based guis. These are accessed on a separate device on the same network (or internet). These use very little resources, all the rendering is done on the client web browser.

If someone wanted to blame China for this, they would take the name of a real Chinese person to do it. There is over a billion real people they could take a name from. It unlikely that a person creating a name for someone for this type of espionage would make a mistake like picking an implausible name accidentally.

It’s relatively recent that OS can be installed in such a short time. MacOS isn’t officially supported for installing on these systems so there process used here isn’t going to be well optimised. Apple only care about installing MacOS on their own hardware, which is likely quick when they do it in production and slow elsewhere.

Safari is by far the best browser for battery performance. I’m uncertain if this would translate over to safari running in darling when it supports guis fully.

Digital keyboards (at least contemporary ones) use embedded systems that require software. OP wants a piano/digital keyboard that uses open source software.

I don’t think it exists (I don’t know of any). The software for these systems is going to be highly coupled to the feature set of that digital piano and the benefit of modifying the software is low. So it’s unlikely someone has made a open source digital piano.

If it exists its either a very small project, a manufacturer has chosen to release their software as open source or an adaptation of keyboard/synthesizer software. Although many libraries for such software are likely open source.

High end digital keyboards market themselves as pianos.

I think Gmail on Android does this. Any link you click on in the app Firefox shows you the initial Google address before you go to the link you clicked on.

For most people Linux is useless without GNU. A kernel alone doesn’t make an OS.
