Yeah, I’m not really the best person to speak to this myself as I don’t know a lot about the auto industry. It’s definitely a multifaceted issue, I just wish we had a more equitable system to avoid artificial price increases.
It’s not really that strange when considering cars have been progressively held to higher safety standards for carrying a human being, while those other devices have not.
TLDR
He was raided for unrelated reasons to his mastodon server, the police have a seize it all policy.
There is talk about changing policy to exclude things like servers and similar devices that are not related to the initial reason for the search. There doesn’t seem to currently be laws or rules about what police can or can’t do with data.

Yeah, it is at the moment for the most part. My girlfriend is fluent in Spanish, and I have talked to her about general concepts that overlap.
We decided after I started getting deeper into the language that we should maybe not do that as much so I don’t pick up bad or flat out wrong habits.
I myself am of an Italian descent, however the relatives I have that speak it either live in Italy still and are estranged or sadly have passed away. There is an Italian grocery store near me, and I have heard them speaking it so I was hoping to strike a couple friendships up over time there.
