Thank you for the suggestion! I think the goal is to have a system as in image backup. But possibly to also back up the data and configuration to then restore that onto a new Linux distro. This is an assumption of course and I hope that is the case. I think my manager had been falling behind on updates/upgrades/back ups with some of the servers and now coming on board this will be my task(s) to handle.
I just barely joined the organization, so I’m not entirely sure what’s in our environment/infrastructure. First task given to me is to find a full image back up solution. My assumption is that we wants to move off of CentOS for obvious reasons and move onto a new Linux distro. I haven’t spoken with my manager just yet to get a better idea as to what the end game is. Hopefully today I’ll get the full scope. I can’t imagine we’d want to continue using CentOS.

Hm… well for example in the U.S. we have the Boy Scouts of America, this organization teaches boys and young men survival and general life skills. There’s a spectrum of “off-grid” citizens. One one side of the spectrum, they still work and make under the table money, which in turn they use to buy some resources. On the other side of the spectrum there’s citizens who have no communication with the general population. I guess the best way to see these examples would be on YouTube - searching for survivalist, off grid, and or self sufficiency.
Huh… self sufficiency is not a myth. There’s many parts of the U.S. where citizens are off the grid, some more extreme than others. However, if and when the shtf, being self sufficient might make you an easy and weaker target. I believe men should be building relationships with other men in the community. To teach and learn from each other on how to be sufficient not just for themselves but for their community or communities even. Most importantly survival skills.

The only identity (geo) politics I acknowledge is Global South and West. In the Global South, there really isn’t identity politics and nor does the general consensus of the Global South want to embrace identity politics. All identity politics does is divide us further and keeps us unfocused and enslaved to the government. Sooner or later identity politics will self devour, regardless of what side you’re on. To be frank, I don’t like democracy - mob rules. It ultimately ushers in degeneracy and corruption.
