I’m using a 2060 with Mint with no problems. Well, short of the game I’m playing (Enshrouded) needing to validate its install every single time I open Steam, but I suspect that’s on Steam.

Do I need a mold or something? Can I just buy a tube of resin and use a cup I don’t care about?
This also deserves consideration. More eco-friendly, and it gives me a chance to practice my desoldering skills.
Worse. A classroom.
That’s good to know. I suppose most of us not knowing this is a good indicator of the average age around here. I think the last time I installed Windows from scratch was 7…
Linux is amazingly portable.
So I’m discovering! I might just have to install Linux on my home machine, but I’ve been running Windows for so long, I really worry I’m going to break something in that case. I also do a lot of audio production with that machine, and software compatibility might end up being a big problem.
That’s a great idea! I have an old HDD and a 300 watt PSU lying around somewhere. I suppose I could just mount it all on a board.
My right index finger still has an indent from using the clit-mouse to play Starcraft on a Thinkpad 25 years ago.
I had a dream a few nights ago. I was a robot living in a society being taken over by this evil regime that was turning robots into humans. The leader of the regime lured me to the location where they were going to make me human. When he was dramatically revealed from behind the curtain - a split second after I realized I’d been tricked - he started towards me, and I kicked him in the junk as hard as I could!
Which was when I woke myself and my wife up because I’d kicked the shit out of the wall next to the bed. My big toe still hurts.
I may have harvested my beets a little late.
I’m about an hour into giving this circular cursor thing a try, and I think I’m a convert. You think it’d be hard to click on things given the overlap, but the color swap when you’re over an interactable really sells it. Thanks!
Then there’s Dark Souls 2 where very early in the game there’s a coffin that gives you the option to enter. Do so, and you come out the opposite sex you were when you went in.
I bought my wife an HP Stream 13 some years back. It came with Windows 8 installed. Which worked just fine until updates bloated it so much it literally took up the entire (paltry) SSD. Windows 10 came out and it offered a free upgrade, which would have been smaller. Unfortunately, every time I tried to do that, it just complained it didn’t have the space to make the switch. I rolled it back to an older Windows 8 and disabled updates to try and keep using it. It complained constantly. I finally deleted the shit out of Windows and installed Lubuntu. It’s worked since then without issue.
Huh. I just searched Google, and clicked on the clip. While I was watching, I copied the URL and pasted it here not really bothering to look at it. I edited it to be a YouTube link instead.
This is just a shoddy ripoff of Keanu Reeves’ speech in Parenthood.
Weaponized humor!
This is fantastic except I’ve got a fractured rib and the mild chuckle fucking hurt.
Sounds like I made the right choice.
I did have the same old printer failure today though. I suspect its endemic to Linux (or WiFi printing in Linux) given a Google search turns up the same issue in a bunch of different Linux forums. Debian based and otherwise. It was quicker to right itself in Mint than it was in Ubuntu anyway.
Hmm. Korean kids have recently started saying “skibidi”. Meaning it’s probably old hat by now. Old hat… that’s how old I am…
