Edit: numbers are off by 1000 as I used calories instead of kilocalories to calculate brain energy expense.
Corrected:
human brains are 1.44x more efficient during training and 0.128x (or 8x less efficient) during inference.
Oops lol

Not because, no. I think it’s greed.
This is like the “there are some responsible assault rifle owners” argument. Although corporations are not required by law to maximize investor returns, CEO “compensation” is often tied to “performance” so the incentives of those with the most decision power make it de facto required to maximize returns to investors. That’s why Musk needed to convince his board of directors (who are there to represent the best interests of the share holders) to approve some ridiculous pay package. His “performance” in their eyes is proportional to share holder profits so if they’re happy, he gets his absurd pay package, which is why his incentive is to maximize profits for shareholders by any means necessary.
We got to the “this entire community…” stage way faster than Reddit did.
No. The answer is no, they don’t understand.
This is a dumb take bred from perceived superiority.
actions breed habits
Lmao “I got to the polls in November and my muscle memory took over and I voted uncommitted in the general election, since I did it once 8 months ago I couldn’t resist”. This is like Dunning-Kreuger for life in general.
Or is it a “just don’t do anything” enlightened centrist take?
I took a quick look at the specs and the T460 has 2 cores and uses DDR3 ram, so even though Linux is much lighter on resources than Windows, this laptop might not last you too long, considering how heavy even basic web browsing is these days. This computer will choke if you have a lot of tabs open, especially if you have things other than the browser open. I also noticed it has TPM, so just double check that you can replace the OS on this particular machine.
An alternative would be the T480, which would give you more mileage but can’t usually be had for under $100 like the T460.
Glhf!
Why would they have to leave? Why couldn’t they stay?
No, the Jews that are already there can stay. More can immigrate if it fits into the national agenda. They just live in Palestine and have to participate in a real democracy instead of an ethnostate. And yes, it must be safe for both Jews and Arabs (and Christians, Beduins etc.).
Oh man, even reading that hurt ':D I’m sorry for your loss.
That’s cool. Another point for the Rhino.
You mean 2 piholes or adguard homes, right? That way if one goes down you can still use the other one.
Does it work if you change your DNS server by editing /etc/resolv.conf
and having it show exactly one name server like
nameserver 9.9.9.9
?
Come on, it’s a raspberry pi not an iphone. Those things are for tinkerers who live by “if it ain’t broke, fix it till it is”.
That worked really well! I got a 50gb partition with about 30gb free space into a 10gb zipped image. Is there any way to show progress during the operation like with dd’s status=progress?
Thanks, I’m gonna have to read that a few times ':D
Ok, thanks. That sounds pretty good.
If i want to compress it and save it as a backup can I do
cat /dev/sda3 | gzip -9 > drive.img.gz
?
This is the correct answer.
Edit /etc/hosts and add
127.0.0.1 example.com
so when you type example.com into the address bar it goes to 127.0.0.1.
