Piracy is always good
I have a laptop with a very old I-5 And 4 GB. It runs mint XFCE fine, just manage your expectations.
Socialism will never happen in the United States. It is antithetical to the entire format of the country. It’ll take the US collapsing before the slightest glimmer of possibility happens. Not to mention that there is no organized group of socialists in the US.
Stop acting like Biden is just being lied to by Israel and is some helpless victim. He is absolutely responsible for his continued allowance of the genocide of Palestinians. Hold your politicians to a higher standard.
Trump will be much worse on letting the Israelis genocide Palestinians.
Making fun of British people is the morally correct thing to do at all times.
Well, it’s the standard now. I don’t like it either because of their gratuitous data storage, but what other choice do I have? All my friends and communities use it.
Saw what windows 11 was going to be like and figured I should bail and learn Linux before I had to move over. Been just under 2 years on Linux. Don’t regret my decision.
If it has those hybrid graphics setups, pop os is made to support those by default. And their flavor of gnome is pretty good, they even have a fully custom DE coming eventually.
Yeah but it was precalculated
Kinda weird how our experiences can be different like that. Hardware differences maybe?
I don’t mind the workspaces idea, but I’m just so used to a windows-like philosophy that I just can’t adjust easy.
If I had one monitor, maybe gnome would be better. Workspaces could organize myself better. But I have 3, and almost never use other workspaces in KDE. And my mint XFCE laptop isn’t a big work machine so it doesn’t matter much.
Also I had technical issues on gnome that didn’t happen on KDE.
My first distro was pop, and their version of gnome I do like. But I’m not willing to customize it enough to suit myself. I’m more of a “stock experience with small mods” kinda dude. I do enjoy Unix porn but don’t have desire to do it myself. That’s kinda why I’m not a massive fan of xfce. The default layout is really bad.
I recently moved to Fedora and tried gnome first. Absolutely no thanks. I just can’t get down with it, and I had numerous issues in just a few days. KDE spin has been pretty painless.
Fix the issues with Wayland and everyone will happily make the switch.
Disagree with his politics, but otherwise based.
Just use Fedora. In my opinion, it’s the new gold standard for standard use Linux distributions.
If you really want an Ubuntu base, Pop!_OS is also good. They’re working on making their own desktop environment, which is looking pretty sweet.
Tried to use Manjaro at some point. What a horrible distribution.
