Website going down was confusing but under the circumstances best course of action.
On the bright side apps still worked :)
Awesome to have the site back up and running.

If Lemmy supported user instance blocking I would agree with you, but until then this is the best option available.
And this is why I wish instance user blocking was an option rather than just the nuclear option of defederating.
Looks so much better on mobile now after this update.
Great work, thanks for all that you do.
Whilst enlightening, it’s kinda also useless. Let’s be honest the majority of endusers use a particular app, in the main, because its most likely what everyone else in their friend group uses.
In my case WhatsApp, I’d struggle to get all my friends and family to change at this point.
If you think meta has any good intentions I would suggest reading this article about how they killed xmpp open protocol.
There objective will be simple, monetize and if they can’t, kill off the competition.
Edit: grammar and spelling
I sincerely hope that as many admins as possible instantly defederate from metas instance if they ever launch one.
Iirc Kodi YouTube requires an API key.to.function correctly.
This is required due to YouTube’s restrictions on anonymous API requests.
Of course he does, because they can’t advertise/monetize NSFW subs.
Which is why when they were forced to come back some subs flagged themselves as NSFW.
It’s now come up in the search, wierd.
What I don’t understand is if I search in kbin , lemmy.fmhy.nl instances appear in the search so why not the other way?
Confused.
Am trying to add [email protected] but doesn’t come up, I’m assuming kbin is not fully federated or because it’s a different platform is there a different search method?
AntennaPod for Android available through FDroid is pretty good if you’re after Foss.
Personall, for me the best podcast app os Pocket cast, multi-platform and web browser option.
