I use names of known computers or androids in fiction. My main computer is always Ralf (the computer built by Richie Adler in Whiz Kids), and my main phone is Lal (Data’s daughter). My girlfriend uses other franchises (GLaDOS, Wheatley, Marvin).

I’d say most of those are needed; they’re just not used.
Yup. Paraphrasing an old IT saying, you cannot grep Youtube videos.
One can debate if is better to create good, indexable articles that can reach a moderate number of people, or run-of-the-mill videos that reach millions but are less useful.
Not everyone has the attention span required to read through a Wikipedia page.
I contend that such lack of attention span makes difficult to learn anything in any way.
I hate the number of people teaching useful things using videos instead of writing articles.
It has some interesting ideas and chapters. But when the creator of the show and the actor playing the Nietschean first officer leave due to Sorbo’s ego, the show really turns into a dumpster fire.
That man deserve no respect from me since he turned Duncan Idaho into a fucking fratboy (that is, the only part he’s ever played everywhere).
Nah, there was the clear risk that Tuvix exhibited the worst traits of Tuvok and Neelix. That would be a total nightmare. Restoring the original was the proper choice. At some point an opportunity to get rid of Neelix could appear, and you could retain the original Tuvok without loss.
Doesn’t work in Finder.
I’d say is similar with any source control software. It’s the same with me and Fossil. (And, granted, there are less plugins to support Fossil in IDEs; the one in Visual Studio Code/Codium does OK.)
Damn I hate with a passion the IDE interactions with source control software. I may make use of the visual information they give me, but I still execute the commands in the console.
The J is lowercase, -ejo is an Esperanto suffix meaning “place”.
a general unwillingness to learn how to do things beyond click icons for apps
I’d say “a general unwillingness to learn how to do things”, period.
No, Windows comes preinstalled on most PC’s due to clever marketing
I’d say it comes preinstalled because Microsoft has threatened OEMs to forbid Windows installations if they sell computers with Linux preinstalled.
Even more minimalist option to try: Crunchbang++
I loved it but now I’ve mostly replaced it with AIMP.
