Brilliant! As an apple engineer, I think I will do the same thing with image previews in iMessage! What can go wrong?

FWIW, my daily driver is a Lenovo Yoga with Ubuntu and the active pen works just fine with that. That support is definitely there.
Damn this might be an easy buy for $600
Macbooks just make really nice ssh terminals for accessing your Linux dev environment. Though these days there are decent options for Linux terminals with a similar form factor, they just don’t tend to be much cheaper.
This is the answer.
I’ve been using Ubuntu professionally and as a daily driver for more than a decade now. I’ve tried the other major ones but Ubuntu is just no fuss. I can stand up a fresh system in 20 minutes and there is an enormous support base. I just don’t have time to be a Linux hipster these days.
The only thing I can see which might win me over one day is Nix.
Right. “Bumper sticker politics”
I’ve heard very few good ideas which can fit into 160 characters.
Room temp superconducting magnets should make motors and power generation a bit more efficient. Magnetic plasma confinement gets a shit load easier as well.
I legitimately have not booted into windows for years.
This is why I keep my initrd tattooed as a barcode on my testicles.
I have blink cameras on solar panels that work pretty well as a mostly “no wires” solution. The motion detection can be a bit slow, but they do everything I need.
I modded a 10M+ sub for years and years and it is laughable how inept reddit’s engineering team must be when it comes to developing mod tools. They literally have open source teams hacking mod tools into browser extensions and they still couldn’t figure it out.
After a while it became abundantly clear that this kind of boring, iterative feature engineering was just not well funded compared to other parts of the company.
It’s like early reddit, except they replaced the conservatives with tankies.
The average person is extremely tech illiterate. This is not a condemnation of their personal choices, or view of the world, or politics or anything like that. Even highly educated people cannot explain even the most basic things about computers, the internet, electricity or the nature of information.
Linux feels simple to you because you likey have both education and experienced with computer systems. However, the interconnected world is not that difficult to understand if you have the opportunity to understand it. This privilege absolutely makes everyone else in the world who does not have that opportunity or desire feel shockingly inept on technology issues.
So it’s basically a more formalized API version of preinstall and postinstall scripts.
Good God is that still going?
