Looks like Obsidian’s sync is $8/mo and is a bit messy to sync otherwise, if sharing between Android and Windows. Not a fan of that at all. Joplin sync just works.
Joplin user here. What does obsidian have that I might want? I remember briefly trying it years ago and disliking it.

I use Phillips Hue bulbs and Kasa outlets. I try to avoid WiFi when I have ZigBee and Z-Wave but the outlets have been flawless for me for years, and on sale their incredibly cheap. Dunno about security.
Using compose makes it a hundred times easier to understand and interact with. Also using Linux.
Plex, Sonarr/Radarr, Ombi, Home Assistant, Komga, Calibre-Web, Valheim. Everything is on a Debian machine I built recently, except HA which is on an O-Droid (I just copied the hardware from HA Blue and ordered the parts from Ameridroid).
How about what I’m not self-hosting? Lemmy. If anyone has an up to date guide on self-hosting a single user instance of lemmy that is actually easy to follow, that would be great. I just want to control my user account.
